How it began..

Some background info on us:

Hi, my names Lauren. I’m 23 years old and have a son Riley who is 2 and a half. I’ve been living in my own house with Riley & my cat L-A for just over a year now. 2 years ago on the X-factor Simon Cowell mentioned a charity called K-9 Angels who do amazing work with dogs. This is taken off their Facebook site: ‘We work with a trusted network of dedicated individuals, shelters, vets in order to help save dogs from dangerous countries and rehome them to countries of stability.
We specialise in helping dogs from the DOG MEAT TRADE in THAILAND and the STRAYS on the streets of ROMANIA’

Well anyway, I started following them on Facebook and loved what they stood for and all the work that they did. I knew I would get a dog at some point, didn’t decide that it would be from them until November this year. I got in contact with them and had a home check done and was told I was fine to adopt a dog. I had already put in an interest in a miniature husky type female (A Klee Klee) called Clara but the lady who was dealing with her was slow at getting back to me and seemed in no rush to get the pup adopted and that was when I was shown the photo of my gorgeous baby and instantly fell in love.

She had the most gorgeous brown eyes and the fluffiest fur, She was still only a baby of 7 months and yet I could see in her eyes that she had gone through so much in her short life. The fact that she only had 3 legs didn’t put me off in the slightest.

Very quickly it was agreed that I could have Maghie. We then faced the problem of how to get her from her foster home in Northampton upto Aberdeen, Scotland where I live. Trains were going to cost over a hundred pounds and there was no way that my mum was upto driving that far (I don’t drive) There are some amazing people in this world and amazingly between me, her fosterer and another ‘dog’ lady we managed to arrange transport for Maghie to get upto Edinburgh where my mum will drive me to go pick her up.

It’s now only a week away till I get to meet my fur baby for the first time and I’m so excited! Been doing some research online on tri pawed dogs and hopefully everything will go smoothly. Just got her bed, dishes, toys, food to get and i’ll be all ready!

Look at how scared she looks. Poor pup must be so confused!
